Mtarfa FCYN Festival U8

Mtarfa FC Youth Nursery organised a football festival for players born in 2002/2003 at their artificial turf pitch. Taking part in the festival were the nurseries of Kirkop United, Zebbug Rangers, Xghajra Tornados and Luqa St. Andrew’s, besides Mtarfa.

MTARFA FC YN U11 EASTER FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

 Following last’s week U8 football festival it was the U11s turn to show their skills and abilities on the synthetic pitch at Mtarfa. It was open for players born in 2000 or before and the nurseries of Sliema, Naxxar, Fgura and Luqa participated.

Paul Fenech Mtarfa Hero

Paul Fenech was the player who scored against Marsascala in the first round and in that match thanks to his goal Mtarfa FC dramatically equalised the match on 1-1. The same player Paul Fenech today against Marsascala in a match valid for the BOV third Division League second round, proof to be the hero player for Mtarfa as thanks to his goal at 43 minutes he gave a very important victory and three points to the yellow and green stripes. Who overpass the same Marsascala in the league table.

Youth Update KO section B

Brave and courage surrounded by Mtarfa supporters against lucky Hamrun was not enough for the team managed by Angelo Borg. Mtarfa U19 were beaten by Hamrun Spartans thanks to a goal scored at each half with Mtarfa flag goal scored at 90 minutes.

The Mtarfa players (sponsored by pink promotion) during the first half suffered the elements of nature with the wind playing the main role. Hamrun opened the lead thanks to a penalty at 19 minute.

In the second half the match changed direction of play with Mtarfa hitting twice the opponent post and during the best time for Mtarfa, Hamrun Spartans scored the match goal on counter attack. For Mtarfa scored Gary Caruana.

Final score Mtarfa 1, Hamrun 2.

MFCYN Summer School

After last year’s success Mtarfa FC Youth Nursery will once again organise a soccer summer school for children aged 5 to 14 years.

The nursery is therefore seeking coaches willing to form part of this soccer school and hopefully with the intention of continuing their coaching career with Mtarfa FCYN for season 2011/12.
